Security Engineer

I’m working with a thriving business that’s looking for a Security Engineer to join their operations team. The business is a leader in their field, specialising in Defence and Security.

The role is ideal for you if you want a role where you’ll be working to plan, implement, and maintain a security strategy within the business. You will be responsible for making sure the SC and IT service operations ae secure (monitoring and maintaining security of systems and networks, etc.)

Your day-to-day:

·       Being a technical SME within the operations team

·       Playing a key role in analysing security incidents

·       Striving to develop and improve cybersecurity

·       Developing/implementing security policies and procedures

·       Investigation and responding to security incidents

·       Managing/maintaining security tools and systems

Your skills & experience:

·       Experience as a security engineer

·       Strong understanding of network security, cryptography, and incident response

·       Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex security issues, identify the root cause of problems and develop effective solutions

·       Project management skills

·       Attention to detail

·       Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements: knowledge of various compliance standards such as JSP604, HSP440

·       Log Rhythm experience desirable (but training will be given)

·       Discretion
