IT/Systems Manager

 

We are looking to speak with an IT/Systems Manager for a fantastic role with a family-owned business in the West Midlands that have been expanding over the last two years, with even bigger plans for this year.

You’ll be playing a pivotal role, reporting directly to the CEO, while having the opportunity to have a major impact across the entire business. The new phase of growth will be fuelled by the recognition that technology leads the business, so there are several projects underway that will improve their operational processing and maintain their leading position within their sector.

 

As the IT/Systems Manager you’ll be overseeing all IT functions across the business, being in charge of the IT team you’ll be responsible for all aspects of IT infrastructure and Systems.

 

Your day-to-day:

·         Overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them according to goals

·         Liaising regularly with executive and senior management as well as systems users

·         Devising/establishing IT policies and systems to support the implementations of strategies set by upper management

·         Analysing business requirements of various departments and determining their technology needs

·         Overseeing the development and enhancement of systems/integrating new systems with existing ones

·         Providing expert advice and support when systems are being upgraded or installed

·         Working with staff to develop plans and strategies to enhance IT support services

·         Managing the IT team- responsible for hiring, training, evaluation, guidance, dismissal, etc.

·         Coordinate IT managers and supervise software developers, technicians and other professionals to provide guidance in their individual roles

 

Your skills/background:

·         Experience – of working in small fast growing businesses – FMCG could work.

·         Adaptive – the ability to manage multiple projects across various IT solutions with numerous customers.

·         Communication – of both bad news and good news throughout the organisation.

·         Time management – ability to manage and flex time frames against changing organisation priorities, understanding the effect of delays projects.

·         Technical knowledge – High technical knowledge in CRM, Website integration plus additions in brief

·         Culture Fit – Understand the differences in working for a family run business, hands on attitude/not just delegation. Able to manage upwards. Fast pace and desire to finish to meet deadlines.

·         Experience of Microsoft NAV or a similar Enterprise system

·         Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications

·         Experience controlling IT budget

·         Fantastic leadership and organisational skills
